The Celebrations That Bring Us Together
Not every celebration is about the photo. Some are about identity, community… and memory.
In La Paz, there are events that not only fill the streets with color, but also fill your heart with a sense of belonging. These are the moments when you feel the soul of this city, not just its beauty.
The Festivities That Make La Paz Unique
Foundation Festivities – May
Every May, La Paz celebrates its origins with cultural events, parades, music, and community gatherings. I love it because there’s a strong sense of history and identity, the kind that makes you feel part of something real.
La Paz Carnival
Bright colors, creative costumes, dancing, and joy take over the malecón. It’s a celebration that lights up the city for days. I love how the energy flows through every street, no one stands still!
Day of Our Lady of La Paz – January 24
The city’s patron saint is honored with music, fireworks, food stands, and religious festivities. It’s a celebration rooted in local faith and tradition.
Whale Watching Festival – Winter
While more regional, this event fills the season with magic. Whale sightings, eco-activities, and cultural events bring us closer to nature, and to each other.
Fishing Tournaments
La Paz hosts several important events like the “Dorado La Paz” and “Governor’s Cup.”
They’re the perfect mix of sport, nature, and local flavor, and an excuse to enjoy fresh fish by the sea.
September’s National Festivities
Patriotic spirit comes alive in concerts, art exhibits, mariachi shows and family gatherings. It’s loud, heartfelt, and full of color.
🕯️ A Personal Tradition: Día de Muertos
This isn’t a holiday for selfies. It’s not seasonal marketing.
For many of us, Day of the Dead is a quiet, sacred moment. For me, it’s a way to reconnect with my grandfather, the person who taught me not to fear death, but to see it as part of life.
We didn’t have perfect altars or fancy decorations. But we had stories.
We had silence, candles, and gratitude.
Every year, I light a candle and whisper his name, not for show, but to keep that love close.

What Clients Say
Lynn came just to explore, and ended up making an offer on a house. He told me the relaxed vibe, safety, and solid medical care helped him decide.
Chris, an expat and real estate colleague, traveled across Mexico before choosing La Paz.
“It’s the perfect balance of adventure and civilization,” he told me. “Everything I love about a small town, with the benefits of a city.”
Kim, also an agent and friend, fell in love at first sight.
“The lifestyle is relaxed, the people are kind, and my quality of life has improved so much,” she said.
And the Everyday Traditions…
Not every ritual has a date on the calendar.
One of my favorites is walking the malecón at sunrise with a cup of coffee in hand.
Locals love to start their day with that peaceful moment when the sun rises over the water and everything smells like salt.
It’s simple, quiet, and deeply grounding.
When I bring someone new to La Paz, they almost always fall in love with that first.
💬 My advice?
Whether it’s a parade or a quiet morning walk, let La Paz show you its rhythm.
Because it’s not just about visiting a place, it’s about belonging.
