A Perfect Day in La Paz

July 28, 20253 min read

It’s not about doing much, it’s about feeling everything

People often ask me what it’s like to live in La Paz —but not in those exact words.
They’ll say things like:

“What do you actually do all day?”
“Don’t you get bored?”
“What’s there to do over there?”

I don’t always know how to answer right away, because life here isn’t flashy. But it has something.
Something you don’t always see, but you definitely
feel.

So today, I want to share what a perfect day in La Paz could look like.
Not as a tourist guide —but the way I live it: tea in hand, salt in the air, and the quiet rhythm of a city that doesn’t rush… but always gets there.

Early mornings, before the world wakes up

My day starts around 5 a.m.
I’m an early riser by nature, even though most of the town doesn’t wake up until 8 or 9.

My partner prepares a warm drink for me —sometimes a London Fog, sometimes a Matcha Tea —and it’s one of those quiet love gestures that make mornings feel softer.

Then I take my daughter to school, and the day begins: calls, clients, property visits, paperwork.
I work a lot (probably too much), but I genuinely enjoy it. I believe in what I do.

When the sea reminds me where I am

I don’t always have time for long breaks, but when I need to reconnect with myself, I have a simple formula:
a cold coffee or frappé + the ocean.

Sometimes I just listen to the waves. Other times I sit and watch the water move.
On my second date with the person who is now the love of my life, I invited him to have a beer by the shore, at night. No plans. No performance. Just stillness.
Appreciating the darkness, and how the moon and stars lit up the water with their reflection.

That. That was enough. That was perfect.

The little sacred things

Here in La Paz, perfect days don’t need an agenda.
Sometimes a walk through the mangrove near our home with my daughter is more than enough.

Or maybe sharing tacos de pescado with visiting friends (because yes, fish tacos are basically sacred here… just like street hot dogs, to be honest).

When someone visits for the first time, I don’t take them to landmarks.
I take them to eat well, to laugh, to watch a sunset that makes you go quiet.

When the sky lights up in purples, oranges, pinks and deep blues —all at once—
I remember that living here isn’t just a blessing.
It’s a gift.

What stays with me at the end of the day

I don’t know if this would qualify as a “perfect day” in the traditional sense.
There’s no big itinerary. No luxury. No packed schedule.

But what I find —again and again— is something I once overlooked: peace.
Stillness. A sense of quiet that settles into your body. As if your heart, your breath, and the sea are all moving together.

It’s not about doing much.
It’s about
feeling everything.

And you? What would your perfect day in La Paz look like?

Maybe it’s full of outdoor adventures. Or maybe you dream of working from home and dipping your toes in the sea after a long day.

There’s no one way to live here. And that’s the beauty of it.

If you’re thinking about moving, investing, or simply slowing down, I’m here.
To share what I know and walk alongside you if you decide to explore this life.
