The French Flavor That Stole My Heart in La Paz
There are places that capture your heart from the very first visit, and for me, 3 Amigos Dessert Café was one of them.
Tucked in the heart of La Paz’s historic downtown, at 291 Belisario Domínguez, this little corner of the city has something truly special: it blends the warmth of Baja with the charm and delicacy of French pastry.
A French Touch with a Paceño Heart
Its owner and chef, Alain, has paceño heart with French roots. You can feel his passion in every dish and the love that goes into his creations.
I always enjoy seeing him greet guests with that sincere smile and kind energy that brightens the day.
Even though I don’t know him deeply, I’ve always admired his attention to detail, from the perfect texture of a poached egg (the very first perfect one I ever had in La Paz!) to the flawless balance of flavors in each dessert.
My Favorites
Every visit feels like a new experience, but if I had to choose, my absolute favorites would be the avocado toast served on a croissant and the Amigos Benedictos, both simply sensational. I also love the chicken salad bagel, and when I’m craving something sweet, the almond croissant never disappoints.
My all-time favorite, the avocado toast, is a true work of art: a buttery croissant topped with fresh avocado, pico de gallo salad, crispy bacon, a soft poached egg, and a touch of cream, all served with a side of crisp lettuce salad that perfectly balances the flavors.
They serve breakfast and brunch (closing at 3:00 p.m.), which makes it the perfect spot to start your day or treat yourself to a mid-morning escape.
3 Amigos Dessert Café has that kind of magic that keeps you coming back again and again.
Behind the Counter
I can’t talk about this place without mentioning the lovely girls who work there, always kind and smiling, especially Ginny, who makes every visit feel extra special with her warmth.
And, of course, a heartfelt shoutout to the kitchen team, the ones who shine behind the scenes, working with Alain to bring these delightful creations to life.
The Heart Behind the Flavor
Every great story has two souls that make it possible. In the case of 3 Amigos Dessert Café, it’s not just Alain, it’s also Agnès, his wife and silent force.
You can feel her presence in the details: the warmth of the space, the harmony in every dish, the calm balance that turns this café into a place you never want to leave.
As the saying goes, behind every great man there’s a great woman, and Agnès embodies that truth beautifully.
Her quiet strength, her grace, and her love for Alain and their shared dream are part of what makes 3 Amigos Dessert Café so special.
Because nothing this heartfelt could exist without the partnership that fuels it.

More Than a Café
For me, this place represents the spirit of what I want to share thr
ough Ya soy local: stories of people who love what they do, who came (or returned) to La Paz to build something beautiful.
3 Amigos Dessert Café may not serve traditional local flavors, but it represents something just as meaningful, the love of someone who fell in love with La Paz and decided to share a piece of their world with us.
Every time I go, I feel happiness and excitement. I know the food will be delicious, and Alain’s kind greeting will brighten my day.
It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re having brunch at a friend’s café.
If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor:
order any kind of croissant, enjoy a great cup of coffee, and let the French flavor steal your heart, just like it stole mine.
